A customer in the heavy equipment industry contracted National Technologies to manufacture an adapter that would be used within a hydraulic assembly system. Utilizing advanced on site machinery including Haas CNC lathe, Hass CNC mill, band saw, thread roller, and heat treat furnace, C1141 steel was expertly manipulated to the required configuration. The part and its numerous details were created with saw cutting, precision turning, and thread rolling processes. The unit was further cleaned and finished with deburring and heat treating. A tight tolerance of ± 0.0015” was maintained throughout manufacturing. The finished dimensions of this unit were 2.091” in length, an outside diameter of 0.7420”, and a hex measurement of 0.750”.

This project was completed within a 4 week turnaround time, supplying 2,047 units to the customer. The adapter was subjected to thorough in process and post production testing, employing visual and dimensional inspections. Left with a raw machined finish, the unit met specified hardness levels of 52-58 on the R30N scale.
